I was just in Haiti, a country truly on the brink. Violence is driving humanitarian needs. Over 1/2 the country—5.7M Haitians—are severely hungry. Thousands could face famine. World Food Programme is scaling up but resources will run out. The world must step up before it’s too late.

Delighted to have co-authored this piece on Haiti with Christopher Sabatini. We argue that, despite the challenges, the situation in Haiti is resolvable. A successful intervention could provide a model for solving other crises in an era of fraying multilateralism.
