The study "PARKIN is not required to sustain OXPHOS function in adult mammalian tissues" by Roberta Filograna et al now online: biorxiv.org/cgi/content/sh… PARKIN loss does not impair OXPHOS function in different tissues of ageing mice or in skeletal muscle of an adult human patient.

New preprint from us! Paradoxically, daily treatment of obese mice with inhibitors of mitochondrial transcription (IMT) prevents diabetes and hepatosteatosis. The fatty acid oxidation is increased in liver despite a drastic reduction of mtDNA expression: biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Our study is finally out! nature.com/articles/s4153… We here show that PARKIN is dispensable for OXPHOS function in adult mouse tissues and in skeletal muscle from a PD-patient. Thanks to Nils-Göran Larsson , Motori Lab, Thomas Perlmann and Per Svenningsson for the great collaboration!

New study from us: science.org/doi/10.1126/sc… High mtDNA copy number promotes lung cancer growth in the mouse, whereas mtDNA depletion in tumor cells reduces tumor growth. This tumor-intrinsic role for mtDNA can be exploited for development of future lung cancer therapies.
