The snow and closed course is allowing Bunker to oversee some much needed yard cleaning and organizing.

I guess winter is going to continue for a few more days.

We accomplished some actual golf course work today, after nearly a month of freezing conditions. Got after bunker detailing, greens vent/roll and wet spot repair. I know the crew was tired of shop cleaning, shoveling snow and the dreaded blackberry patrol lol.

Going to be a beautiful morning!!!

Beautiful afternoon to get a round in at the course. Even better, as I got my equipment manager out for the first time in over a year.

Great maintenance Monday: - greens mowed & sprayed - fairways sprayed - fly mowing newly sodded bunker faces - swapping out tall fescue sod with our nursery poa on 15 tee - seasons first full mow of the range deck & spray Amazing what the crew can accomplish in a day!!!

Hard to believe it’s already spring aerification. A little slow start but now the crews firing on all cylinders.

Post 24 hours after punching greens. Mother Nature didn’t cooperated but regardless we’re getting the core holes filled and like how it’s going.

Another great Monday maintenance day knocked out by the crew. Bunker monitoring all work and squirrels. Started fairway aerification and over-seeding. With the nice weather and our current pace, it’s possible we could finish fairways this week. 🙏🤞

Always busy @ TCGC. Most of the crew out trimming/fly mowing bunkers as we prepare for the WA Open next week. Very labor intensive but the crew does an amazing job. Bunker supervising me, as I finish up spraying fairways.

An absolute awesome setup for the opening round of the WA Open. The crew really got after it even with the chilly weather. The course is in great shape for the first week of May. Bunker has great taste in cars.

Another great morning setup by the crew for the final round of the WA Open Invitational. Sure was nice to have good weather to help showcase the course.

Pulling cores on a few softer landing areas on our fairways. Core harvest, heavy top dress of sand and brush in. Need the cores to re-establish our short grass nursery. Always striving to improve conditions.

First cut on our new short grass turf farm. Hard to believe it’s only been 2 weeks since we put down the cores from soft fairway landing areas. The crew has this down to perfection!!!

Bunker took a break from goose and squirrel control, to help me with some hand watering of greens today. Quite the multitasker- water dispersion and teeth cleaning.

Mixed emotions today, as it’s my last day at TCGC. I will miss the crew as they’re an amazing bunch of guys. They gave endless amounts of effort and strived for excellence. My success and accomplishments was solely because of them.

I thought a move closer to home and retirement was my next adventure. Apparently, there’s more to accomplish in the turf industry. I’ve accepted the superintendent position at Juniper Hills Country Club. Excited to join their team and get after it!!
