The Nebraska group doing computer analysis of chest wall movement to suggest we should be plating more ribs during #SSRF , and only doing one side of a flail may actually destabilize the chest! Need human outcomes though! How much “stability” is needed for good outcomes?

How long should we follow up rib fracture patients with and without #SSRF? Review of (scant) literature For non-op rib fxs, vast majority of complications < 1 month. For SSRF - most potentially correctable complications > 1 month! Up to one year after surgery!
