Highlighting this for #WorldObesityDay2024 "More than 90% of people with #obesity get no medical care for obesity whatsoever. None." How do we achieve true #healthcare? 👉Stop #weightstigma and #weightbias 👉⬆️access to evidence-based therapies 👉(Ironically), treat obesity

Show me a practical, feasible plan for fixing the US food environment so thoroughly that the new obesity drugs are no longer needed. Until then, let's stop presenting diet and drugs as competing approaches.

Says Sarah Ro, MD, #GLP1orBust is a lame way to think about #ObesityCare. Daniel Engber reminds us that people can get half the effect of #Ozempic for 1/30th of the expense. Nope, obesity medicine wasn't born yesterday. 1/2 conscienhealth.org/2024/03/obesit…

There is no rational reason, other than greed, for Novo Nordisk to charge Americans nearly $1,000 a month for Ozempic when it costs less than $5 to manufacture it and can be purchased in Germany for just $59. Novo must substantially reduce the price of Ozempic in the US now.

People need to stop crapping on primary care doctors. They do not have the time or resources to do their job to the fullest of their abilities & that’s not their fault. They should be compensated more. They experience increased rates of burn out compared to other specialties.

Members of Obesity Care Advocacy Network are up on Capitol Hill today to meet with Members of Congress about the Treat and Reduce Obesity Act. Doctors know why it's imp to increase access to all #obesity treatments through #TROA. Now we need Congress to Act.

MHS AOM utilization rates <1% despite coverage since 2018. 0.44% of eligible ADSMs received AOMs. P&T already improved AOM coverage. Time for DoD to act. Treat obesity like a disease. Revise policies to allow AOM use in AD! @SecDef Mark Hertling doi.org/10.1002/oby.24…
