My Body Is Me was published in 2019 in the UK. Who could have foretold that this delightful inclusive book for kids would prompt such a vile campaign of bullying and vengeance? But it did.

“It is entirely possible to condemn the language and overreach of Trump’s executive orders on gender while also supporting the judgment in London. Women face discrimination, and so do transgender people, and the law can recognize that,” Helen Lewis writes: theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/…

What gets me about this obvious misogyny is that no one at the top of the movement — trade unions, charities, big activists, politicians who speak at these rallies— ever condemns it. Even noticing it is treated as falling for a right wing trap.

I’m quoted in this Amy-Clare Martin piece, arguing that “It’s pretty shocking that successive governments have spent hundreds of millions a year on imprisoning people under a sentence the United Nations has described as a form of torture” independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/…

Important point re: last week's Supreme Court decision on the meaning of sex in equality law. Several outlets are saying ‘The Court ruled that trans women with a GRC can be excluded from single-sex spaces if it is proportionate to do so’. This is not accurate.

“Asked by ITV West Country if he would repeat that trans women are women, Starmer replied... ‘A woman is an adult female, and the court has made that absolutely clear. I actually welcome the judgment because I think it gives real clarity’” theguardian.com/world/2025/apr…
