Can you stop beta blockers post MI when the LV is normal ? The Abyss trial suggests you should NOT stop the beta blocker (with no improvement in quality of life if you do stop it)

The SENIOR-RITA trial found that an invasive strategy involving coronary revascularization plus medical therapy did not significantly reduce the risk of cardiovascular death or nonfatal myocardial infarction compared to a conservative medical therapy approach in older patients

In the REVIVED-BCIS2 (Revascularization for Ischemic Ventricular Dysfunction) trial, PCI did not improve the hierarchical composite of death, HHF, and health status at 2 years. PCI improved KCCQ-OSS at 6 months, but this benefit was not sustained to 1- or 2-year follow-up

The most shocking trial in modern cardiology continues to find no signal of PCI benefit, despite enrolling pts most likely to benefit. How the “clogged pipe” frame of thinking persists despite such evidence amazes me.
