Exciting starting on the lab work!

This time of year, most of us have been busy carrying out fieldwork. Here Clare Cowgill (plus many others) helped me collect samples for my river eDNA modelling work. It was gruelling, as fieldwork often is. I'm due to return the favour, with a much easier trip in a few weeks!

Back to work today for one of our researchers, Kristy Adaway after a short break in the Scottish Highlands where we watched dolphins from the shores of the Moray Firth and drove around the banks of Loch Ness. 🐬🏞️🦌 #BackToWork #ScottishHighlands #NatureBreak

Life of a PhD researcher... On holiday, took opportunity to pick up samples & equipment stored for me at Diglis Lock. The lovely Canal & River Trust staff Mark & Callum entertain/educated my kids explaining locks & weirs. Of course my kids chose to ask what the sewage outlet was!!
