Down to Westminster tomorrow for the Assisted Dying debate. The evidence is increasingly clear that the bill is a threat to vulnerable people. Almost half of those who opt for AD in Oregon do so because they fear ‘being a burden’. The bill is illiberal and inhumane.

Dame Esther Rantzen sent correspondence that attempted to smear those who oppose assisted suicide as hiding “undeclared religious beliefs". Jess Asato MP (Jess Asato MP) asks Kim Leadbeater to distance herself from this. Leadbeater says she hasn’t seen the comments… really?

“Undeclared religious beliefs.” Within polite society, being religious is the latest twist on “closeted homosexual”.
