In other news, my Homes (Fitness for Human Habitation) Bill just passed the Lords Committee stage and should complete its passage through Parliament next Wednesday. Which is nice.

Break from Brexit – new legislation is a step closer with Labour’s @KarenPBuckMP bill to help keep rented homes free from damp, vermin and danger. The Tories blocked this Bill in 2015 and 2016 but Labour pressure and persistence pays off

Westminster Council needs to be clear whether it is elected to protect and further the interests of its residents or keep ignoring their basic needs like it did for decades on housing & air quality. You can't keep building and at the same time reduce needed access to green spaces

Our #LondonPlan blog post from yesterday on housing targets is up at justspace.org.uk/hearings-eip-2… Please add corrections if you were there. Angels; pinheads.

There is clear evidence that Social Housing is what is needed, and neglected overcrowding in existing Homes needs to be considered too. Social Housing delivery needs to go up.

The utter inadequacy of the #LondonPlan equalities analysis is confirmed by statements submitted since the inspectors ordered the publication of the detailed workings justspace.org.uk/2019/02/26/gra… This is very serious stuff.

Good to hear about this improvement. But other European nations like Switzerland have done this ages ago. So comparison gets a bit skewed.

The #LondonPlan promises a lot for middle- & up-market housing needs but very little low-rent which is where the backlog of need lies. Discriminatory, but Mayor failed to explore that so Plan may not be lawful. JustSpace.org.uk

The Financial Times on 'Build to Rent'. We argued #LondonPlan wrong to create whole new use class (in effect) for what could become a serious racket justspacelondon.files.wordpress.com/2019/01/m29-bu…

Great imediate step. But central Gov must stop and reverse massive cuts across a range of relevant areas which are the real reasons behind our crumbling society.

This is long overdue. Westminster Council used social value creation assessments years ago when trying to argue cases to closedown community facilities whilst cheating itself out of such and other values with commercial contractors using value for money as the decisive factor.

There is a Westminster Council Elderly care scandal brewing. After a sepsise death district nurses' handling of preasure ulcers, medical attendence and communication between Elderly home care services need to be investigated! It's a problem known for years. But enough is enough!
