Severe flooding has devastated Pibor, submerging homes, displacing families, and contaminating vital water sources, leaving the vulnerable population at heightened risk of waterborne diseases.

On November 3, 2025, the Rescue Mission team in Pibor met with the County RRC Chairperson to discuss key activities for implementing the WASH project in Pibor County under the GPA. #GPA #ERRM

On 5th November 2025, The Rescue Mission conducted an inception meeting in Boma, bringing together key stakeholders, including the local authority, women leaders, youth leaders, and a representative from the RRC. The meeting aimed to present the objectives of the project clearly.

The Rescue Mission – TERM completed the registration of 1,500 beneficiaries for WASH NFIs services on 9th November 2025 across four Payams of Pibor County, Greater Pibor Administrative Area (GPAA). The Project aims at improving the hygiene conditions among IDPs #ECHO #SouthSudan

On 17th November 2025, the Rescue Mission team in Pibor deployed 25 Hygiene Promoters to educate and raise awareness among communities on the importance of good hygiene practices to protect and prevent them from WASH-related diseases #ECHO #ERRM #GPAA.

The Rescue Mission team in Pibor–GPAA has trained and deployed 10 pump mechanics to rehabilitate nonfunctional boreholes in the community, ensuring access to clean, safe water. #GPAA #ECHO #ERRM

The Rescue Mission pump mechanics rehabilitated seven boreholes in Pibor–GPAA, restoring access to clean, safe water for the communities. The repaired boreholes include four in Hai Kondako, two in Hai Jalaba East, and one in Hai Matar.

TERM hygiene promoters in Pibor County are raising awareness on the dangers of open defecation, the importance of handwashing, and using clean, treated water, helping communities adopt safer hygiene practices and prevent disease.

The Rescue Mission-TERM has trained 107 water management committees in Pibor, equipping them with skills in borehole maintenance, financial management, and hygiene promotion strengthening community ownership of clean and safe water access.

The Rescue Mission has successfully delivered WASH supplies to Boma County, GPAA, providing life-saving water, sanitation, and hygiene services to flood and conflict-affected communities in Maruwo, Kizingora, Boma & Miwono Payam. Funded by the South Sudan Humanitarian Fund.

The Rescue Mission Team in Maruwo, Boma County (GPAA) has successfully completed Community Hygiene Promoter training. The team will now conduct door-to-door and public outreach to promote good hygiene, reduce WASH-related diseases, and improve community health.

The Rescue Mission trained Hygiene Promotors in Pibor to lead life-saving water purification using PUR sachets, boosting skills, confidence, and community access to safe drinking water while reducing waterborne diseases.
