Praying for the families of those killed last night in an incident of gun violence at a home on Lincoln Street. This tragedy is every parent’s worst nightmare.

South Carolinians have the right to peacefully protest. Violence in all forms must be condemned — including when President Trump stokes it. Where were you on January 6 when he incited a mob? Where were you when he pardoned them for assaulting police officers?

If there are credible threats, then tell us. If you’re making it up, then you’re no better than Nancy Mace as you both say anything to try to get elected governor. #SCPol

Political violence must never be tolerated. It’s up to all of us to tone down the rhetoric and make it clear that we can resolve our differences peacefully. My heart is with the families of Rep. Hortman, Sen. Josh Hoffman, and the people of Minnesota in the wake of this tragedy.
