An interesting Isle of Wight development site where the potential impact of #landslide displaced Upper Greensand blocks needs to be considered. Living with the effects of historic land sliding certainly provides interesting #engineering challenges.

We came across an interesting feature whilst inspecting a building subject to ground movement. It seems that the bottom half of these steps have moved off down hill a fair way since they were built! #landslides

We are pleased to report that #piling stabilisation work will be starting on one of our projects next week. The house, which still retains its 18th Century elements, has been under threat of land sliding from the hillside below.

This all looks idyllic until you realise it’s the toe of a very large #landslide complex to the south of #Totland Bay, Isle of Wight. Fortunately no properties close by affected. #civilengineering #landslip #geotechnics #geotechnicalengineering
