Regents agreed to notify regulators at the federal Nuclear Regulatory Commission that it has potential sites available at Texas A&M - RELLIS for nuclear power companies to test and construct the next generation of nuclear reactors: tx.ag/BOR110724RELLIS


Regents approved more than half-a-billion dollars in construction projects across the A&M System, including a space research facility in Houston, a hypersonic wind tunnel at Texas A&M - RELLIS, and a new Texas A&M VetMed teaching and research complex: tx.ag/BOR110724TAMUS


Chancellor John Sharp has offered land at Texas A&M - RELLIS to four nuclear reactor companies so they can build the latest small modular reactors, or SMRs. The project, called "The Energy Proving Ground," will allow the companies to build reactors and test their latest prototypes.

A program developed by Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory has trained generations of workers on how to safely handle explosives, a critical skill for LLNL employees who develop and support national security missions, including the nuclear weapons complex. The innovative course provides hands-on training, culminating in detonating explosives on the explosive range at Texas A&M - RELLIS, and drives home the importance of safety processes and standards in explosives handling.

This week, we opened the Animal Reproductive Biotechnology Center at Texas A&M - RELLIS, a state-of-the-art Texas A&M AgriLife Research facility designed to enhance collaborative research, teaching, and outreach as it brings together the latest reproductive technologies under one roof.
