Woo! Go Ms. Folkoff! So lucky to have you here at Relay.

2nd is finishing up their owls! We started with a paper weaving base before turning it into an owl. I love seeing all the different accessories students gave them! Relay Elementary #1relay4all

K looked at Matisse's Purple Robe and Anemones and talked all about pattern. Then we created our own artwork full of patterns! #1relay4all Relay Elementary

3rd finished up their sakura paintings! Students practiced blending watercolor and using unconventional materials to make art. They loved turning it into a hanging scroll! Relay Elementary #1relay4all

5th finished up their value scale landscapes. Talked about atmospheric perspective and practiced creating a scale before working on our final! Relay Elementary #1relay4all

First week self-portraits are up! Relay Elementary

3rd got to go outside and find their own leaf to draw from observation! Next week: painting! Relay Elementary

2nd grade did a collaborative project inspired by the painting "Glacier with Colored Petals" by Alexander Calder. Students loved connecting their work to another students and seeing how they all fit together! Relay Elementary

5th tissue paper stained glass artworks are going up! I am so impressed with the responsibility students showed using the tools safely and also with the art they produced! #1relay4all Relay Elementary

1st is finishing up their fall landscapes! Students loved making the papers for their collage trees. #1relay4all Relay Elementary

3rd collage dragons up on display in time for the Lunar New Year! 🐉 #1relay4all Relay Elementary

4th looked at the Mexican artist Pedro Linares and created their own alebrije designs. Students got to choose the material they wanted to work with. Relay Elementary

5th is working on an animation unit! They are still in the process of creating the resources for their animations #1relay4all Relay Elementary

Finally some nice weather to get these outside so the paint can be sealed! 3rd did an awesome job on their clay letter tiles. #1relay4all Relay Elementary

5th has been working on a printmaking unit. They did lots of practice prints with their plates before printing on their final backgrounds! #1relay4all Relay Elementary

3rd also used printmaking techniques to create these awesome prints of fall leaves! #1relay4all Relay Elementary

2nd worked on collaborative abstract paintings! They were given analogous colors and then one contrasting color to work with. #1relay4all Relay Elementary

2nd finished up their calaveras for Dia de Muertos! Relay Elementary #1relay4all

1st grade pattern fish are up on display! They got to add a small area of glitter inspired by the book Rainbow Fish. Relay Elementary #1relay4all
