At last! Our 1st ever male Wool Carder Bee (Anthidium manicatum) (we saw a female 2 years ago in the Chilterns). We have lots of types of Stachys & he is holding territory around a Betony. We hoped one would turn up! Brigit Strawbridge

Very cool to revisit Druridge Bay and find that the resident population of Marram Grass Chelifer (Dactylochelifer latreillii) is still strong ๐Ÿ’š Extraordinary #Pseudoscorpions but incredibly difficult to spot neath driftwood/stones given camouflage and mm size ๐Ÿ”Ž

Common Gooseneck barnacles (Lepas anatifera) that have attached themselves to a bait pot that has drifted across the Atlantic. The bob about on the currents, filter feeding with their cirri (modified segmented legs). County Clare, Ireland.

During the heat, we started to put out small bowls of rainwater for the birds. We didnโ€™t expect this water source to be such an oasis for #Bees ๐Ÿ˜Ž After a few early bees we now have regular guests who are not impressed when we clean the tray and add new water ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ
