my college roommate had this poster on his wall all four years because he thought it was funny that literally nobody (including him) had ever seen this movie

Instead we should do Free Pools For Those Who Can Prove They Deserve It By Submitting The Last Three Years Of Tax Returns And Additional Supporting Documents

You laugh, but Zohran Mamdani and his wife are in this pool, taking up space that could have been used by a homeless mother and her family. Not so funny now, is it?

Just spoke to a homeless mother who said she's homeless specifically because Andrew Cuomo is living in the $8000 apartment she wanted.

Hakeem Jeffries personally urged Hochul to kill this. Democrats publicly urged Trump to try and stop it somehow. Hysteria reached a fever pitch. Almost literally overnight, you never heard about it again in a negative light. And NY avoided a SEPTA/CTA style transit crisis.

Cuomo’s instincts on this rent stabilized apts thing are off. A lot of nyers are lucky enough to be paying less than market rate for their apartments due to RS, but rent is still a hefty % of their income + one lifestyle shift—job loss, illness, parenthood—and they’re struggling.

I dunno man, if I had supported the Iraq war, had advocated the ethnic cleansing of Palestine, had vouched for the cognitive robustness of Joe Biden and had celebrated Sam Bankman-Fried as someone who was "for real" in his ethical claims, I might not want to accuse other people

the fact that every real life person who was a protagonist from The Big Short has a completely melted brain and falls for incredibly easy to spot scams and or hacky political propaganda is surely a lesson in... something

NYC is expensive but when you adjust for the cost of cheap 24/7 transit, it really is a nice deal compared to other cities in the US. You pay $3 and go anywhere. In other cities, you deal w/ sprawl, eternal Ubering, or you drive. Costs add up!
