Growing up in the bad neighborhoods of Mexico City I never imagined myself being among so many scientists from different nationalities. Learning science from people that come from different cultures it's really an amazing opportunity.

A major perk of sailing in Trondheim fjord: you get to meet the royal yacht of Norwegian King/Queen as well as beautiful people like @Milofish_hb and Pearl Saldanha ;)

Well #NeuroZF2022 was my first neuroscience meeting with Zebrafish neuroscientists. It was definitely an amazing experience and an opportunity to get feedback from amazing people.

Rodent electrophysiologists, just remember no matter how hard your work is getting, it's probably easier than recording from goldfish

One sentence from our workshop today that stroke me: experiments in neuroscience are too hard and expensive. It makes so much more sense to share the data for re-use. I think this is almost an ethical point of view.

How long can you follow your dendrites in 3D? How much dendritic signal can you image from a single neuron simultaneously? If you are interested in our answers, DM me. Or come to our booth Society for Neuroscience Events #3Dimaging #calciumimaging #dendrite How do you image voltage from dendrites?

Question for the zebra fish users of #Suite2p How do you deal with different sizes of cells? I've tried adjusting the spatial scale but usually that just omit the small cells or creates a lot of false positives. I'm using HuC:GCamP6s transgenic fish. Hope some can give advice!

Neuronal ensembles are the building blocks of neural circuits. Please see our review article together with rafael yuste and Rosa Cossart. Now published in Neuron doi.org/10.1016/j.neur…

The best part of being a scientist is to do it together with wonderful, curious and passionate people that we work with. Here are the annual shots today of the Yaksi lab at Kavli Neuroscience and the Nathalie Jurisch-Yaksi lab at NTNU Klinisk og Molekylær Medisin , and of-course our group selfie:)
