I just wrote my first new sentence on my WIP since April 3rd. I don’t know what happened, but I can tell you this. When I started writing, every creative part of me danced, jumped with joy, and I was more myself than I’ve been since the day I stopped writing. I came home to me.

I, on a whim, submitted my second, third, and fourth novel (in progress) to Killer Nashville, for their prestigious Claymore Award, given to the best unpublished manuscript in each genre. The finalist list was just announced. I’m a finalist for each manuscript.

On vacation at my beach house in the South of France for all of July and just plotted out my fifth novel. #WritingCommunity #amwriting

Forced myself to do a ten-minute writing sprint with a friend this morning. I’ve been out of the writing loop for awhile, bit of a slump, but I wrung out a few good sentences in the sprint and thought, “Never silence yourself again.” #WritingCommunity #amwriting

The person reading this now might write a New York Times best seller one day or a book club pick or become the author whose book has a waiting list at the library. You hold limitless potential in your fingertips. Keep writing.

Whenever you feel daunted by your writing journey, take a stroll through your local library or closest bookstore. Those authors managed to make their dreams come true, no reason why your book cannot be there alongside theirs one fine day. You’ve got what it takes. Keep going.

I just wrote the sentence of my life in my current manuscript. The. Sentence. Of. My life. As in, it was worth every sentence I have ever written to reach this sentence. May your writing go as smoothly as mine today. You deserve it.

Whether it is this book, or the next book, or the book after that, you are capable of writing something successful beyond your wildest dreams.

Funny how having the right person believe in you changes everything. The right person is yourself.
