In case no one has told you recently, your words are perfect, your manuscript is beautiful, and a roomful of readers waits for you somewhere, one bright sunny morning, to sign their copies of your bestselling novel.

You have someone’s favorite novel inside of you. It is your responsibility to see it safely into the world, to never give up, not in the query trenches, not on submission, never. You must keep going. For them.

Be grateful for the books deals that haven’t happened yet, the agent calls you haven’t received yet, the manuscripts you haven’t finished yet. You are on the path that leads you past yet. All those magical moments are coming to you. Keep going. #WritingCommunity #amwriting

I just wrote my first new sentence on my WIP since April 3rd. I don’t know what happened, but I can tell you this. When I started writing, every creative part of me danced, jumped with joy, and I was more myself than I’ve been since the day I stopped writing. I came home to me.

I, on a whim, submitted my second, third, and fourth novel (in progress) to Killer Nashville, for their prestigious Claymore Award, given to the best unpublished manuscript in each genre. The finalist list was just announced. I’m a finalist for each manuscript.

Love that Killer Nashville emailed me on my birthday to tell me their reading judges thought THE TERMS (my fourth novel, in progress) was “the best of the best”. I’m humbled. #writingcommunity #amwriting

Found a French thriller writer doing a book signing outside the local bookstore here in the South of France (where I’m on vacation). Bought a copy, told him I’m an American thriller writer, received a long, personalized inscription. #WritingCommunity #amwriting

Forced myself to do a ten-minute writing sprint with a friend this morning. I’ve been out of the writing loop for awhile, bit of a slump, but I wrung out a few good sentences in the sprint and thought, “Never silence yourself again.” #WritingCommunity #amwriting

I just wrote the sentence of my life in my current manuscript. The. Sentence. Of. My life. As in, it was worth every sentence I have ever written to reach this sentence. May your writing go as smoothly as mine today. You deserve it.
