The thing I never expected as an author happened. I didn't expect it when I slogged over my first novel, wept over filter words and even when I plotted my ninth romance book. Someone said I was one of their favourite authors yesterday. Me! My heart is still bursting.

Me to my mother-in-law: I’ve had two really good months with book sales/page reads. Her: When does your new job start? She didn't even miss a beat! She's lovely, and I'm very lucky to have her in my life, but I don't think she’ll ever see that writing isn't just my hobby.

I needed a break from writing so Charlie and I had a walk and made new friends.
