2/ The arrest was expunged & she didn't report it on her Senate form during confirmation proceedings to head DOJ's Civil Rights Division. GOP senators are criticizing & calling for her resignation. The whole point of expungement is the record no longer exists. This is wrong.

1/ This is ridiculous. I've known Kristen Clarke for years & consider her a good friend as well as a colleague. She's now made the painful disclosure that 20 years ago she was the victim of serious domestic abuse & was arrested once in that time. cnn.com/2024/05/01/pol…

I feel like I'm losing my mind a little: people understand that 'occupying buildings on campus' is, like, one of the most common forms of studen protest for decades and not some devious new ploy devised by professional anarchist plotters, right?

Is it okay to post a message containing little or no substance whatsoever, simply to maintain a presence?

If the politicians/pundits who lined up to condemn Columbia pro-Palestine students for the past week do or say nothing about this, don’t condemn this, it’ll be further proof that they don’t actually care about hate or safety on campus. Only on silencing protests against Israel.
