We took a impromptu detour on the way to our holiday. Reminded me of the way my husband & I used to travel before parenthood. 😍

I've had this on my bookshelf for too long. Why didn't I read it before? I might just have to read it again so I can think about it some more.

Thank you Covid for giving me time to read this. I wasn't expecting this story to end how it did. We look at the story of Theseus in Y7 & the children always ask how Theseus could have left Ariadne; this book certainly gives one explanation!

I was genuinely scared in parts of this! I can't believe I'm only just discovering this fantastic story at my age. I would've loved this when I was younger (although I was a scaredy-pants then too).

Looking forward to spending my Bank Holiday with a good book. A tender and consuming portrayal of motherhood and female friendship, I finished part 1 last night. 📚💚Caroline Lea🧟‍♀️✍️ I'm loving it. 👏👏👏Brava!

As promised, here are the fifteen threads – one for each of the poems in the Power and Conflict cluster – that we wrote over the last couple of months. Over 40,000 words in total, I think, so you might want to make yourself a cup of tea before diving in ...

Last lesson with Y13 & we did edible revision based on characters we have known and loved in the last 2 years. John McCrae was one of the winning entries (all entries were winners in my eyes) MASSOLIT I'm going to miss this lovely group of students!

First book of the holidays. I'm aiming to finish the half-read books from the pile next to my bed before I dip my toes into the delights of a new book. This was fairly humorous and a reminder that it's never too late to rediscover old friends.

One of my inherited Y13 students will be doing their NEA on Dr. Faustus and The Brothers Kramazov. I've avoided reading Dostoevsky for my whole life: should I start now?
