Caro senior Austin Bennett, who sustained a spinal cord injury in July 2021 at the age of 14, was gifted tonight on his 18th birthday the news from Caro Tigers Athletics varsity basketball head coach Dave Lester that he will suit up and start for the Tigers at this Friday’s home contest.

What a moment! During his freshman year, Austin Bennett suffered a spinal injury in an accident... Tonight, the Caro Tigers Athletics senior suited up and made a basket for his team! After the bucket, Bennett was congratulated by Sandusky and his own teammates! Bigger than basketball!

Thank you to Caro Community Schools for the opportunity to be the Athletic Director. I learned so much and loved every minute of it. With that said I’m excited for the next chapter becoming the Athletic Director at Durand Area Schools!
