NEW EPISODE ALERT! In the latest episode of Robot Talk, we talked to Dr Richard Hawkins (@AAIP_York) and Dr Frederic Labrosse (AberRobotics) about self-driving cars. #RobotTalk #Podcast #SelfDrivingCar ukrobotics.libsyn.com/episode-eleven…
Lots of interest in our guidance website and methodology for the assurance of #machinelearning in #autonomous systems (AMLAS). Have a read of the The Engineer article: theengineer.co.uk/amlas-safety-c… #assuringautonomy
An interview with Richard Hawkins about our assurance of machine learning for use in autonomous systems (AMLAS) methodology and its new home on our guidance website: assuringautonomy.com
Join the #AssuringAutonomy team! This is a proleptic lectureship so you'll join us as a Research Fellow and in January 2024 take up a lectureship UoY Computer Science. The research will draw together machine learning & safety analysis methods. Find out more and apply: york.ac.uk/assuring-auton…
Heading back for week two of FIRST LEGO League, [email protected] , this afternoon with Victoria Hodge Richard Hawkins and Chiara Picardi. It's great to work with our fantastic group of young engineers at Lord Deramore's. Thanks to @AAIP_York, UoY Computer Science.
The Assurance of Machine Learning for use in Autonomous Systems (AMLAS) framework has recently been applied independently from the AAIP by Markus Borg (Markus Borg) et al., (2023) - this is a brilliant demonstration of AMLAS in use for safety cases! bit.ly/3ZAWRsX #ML
Well that's a wrap on day one of out UAV Hackathon. Looking forward to some creative and safe solutions. Institute for Safe Autonomy Oxford Robotics Institute @AAIP_York
Delighted our paper's published in the Journal of Intelligent & Robotic Systems. link.springer.com/content/pdf/10… It describes how we applied AMLAS to create a safety case for ML that detects wildfires. Great collaboration with Craft Prospect on an @AAIP_York demonstrator project.
Our thoughts on Rishi Sunak's speech on AI. It's important to note that the UK already has organisations solely dedicated to Safe AI - the UK's first was the Institute for Safe Autonomy - we must build on existing work, not begin again from scratch.
We are proud and excited to announce that we've been awarded funding from UK Research and Innovation to train the next generation of AI experts at a new Doctoral Training Centre in Artificial Intelligence. Thanks to all our partners! Read the full release: york.ac.uk/news-and-event… #SafeAI
UAV Hackathon 2023 Safety assurance for drone autonomy - finals happened last week! Congrats to all of the UoY Computer Science -@AAIP_York and Oxford Robotics Institute teams - you produced amazing work! Big thank you to @AAIP_York and Institute for Safe Autonomy for all the help with organizing! ori.ox.ac.uk/projects/uav-h…
During Hackathon a team from University of Oxford, University of York visited Boulby Underground Laboratory - the deepest scientific unit in the UK. We gathered data for future work and had a lot of fun working in unique conditions of Potash mine 🔩⛏️⚙️
Applications are now open for the first cohort of PhD students in the only multidisciplinary centre for doctoral training focused solely on the safety of #AI. Funded by UK Research and Innovation, based University of York Find out more and apply: lnkd.in/e9KnbAdX #SafeAI
