Having buried the ashes of my wonderful former churchwarden after Mass we blessed and dug the first sod in our church hall extension project. Followed by some homemade gazpacho and gardening.

The rather gloriously art deco St Columba’s Anfield for the SSC northern synod. Wonderful Church, great hospitality.

St John’s is looking fabulous this weekend as we celebrate our patron St John the Baptist. As always Church is open with a flower festival based on the colours of the Christian year and a display on the history of our Church. Mass on Sunday will NOT be in the morning but at 4pm

A wonderful parish patronal festival this afternoon celebrating St John the Baptist and our Lord present in his most Holy Sacrament. Wonderful music and liturgy. Great parish party afterwards too! Prosecco, meats, and many salads - perfect for a hot day. Thanks to all.

#semele rbo this evening. A much more successful production than the misfiring Jeptha. Pretty Yende fabulous as Semele and @alicecoote stealing the show as Juno. Fabulous to be so near and see the quality of acting as well as singing.
