Wholeheartedly agree - gardens should not be covered with impermeable material and should have at least 50% if not a lot more planting (real ones) connected directly to the soil.

Yet another reason why we need to reduce artificial lights in our gardens and around our homes (not to mention street lights) - they might not be confusing the lights for the moon but it seems to be directly affecting their normal behaviour

Our new research finds that spot-on flea treatments on pets are a major source of river contamination with potent insecticides. Also, owners hands are continually contaminated by contact with treated pets. Pls RT (1/2) theguardian.com/environment/20… Rose Perkins PAN UK

Both imidacloprid (a neonic) and fipronil are now found in the large majority of English rivers. Our research shows that owners washing their hands after contact with pets is a significant contributor. Washing bedding or bathing dogs also contributes. sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

This is a great idea - in a time of the climate emergency and biodiversity crisis, we need to green our streets and provide people with a safe way of travelling through walking and cycling.

If you widen that highway you won’t reduce emissions or congestion. What you WILL do is spend a lot of public money to induce even more cars emitting even more GHGs & pollution in the same or worse congestion with people still telling you to widen the highway. Period.

The biggest, most existential issue facing our species is being totally ignored in the election debate. Today’s march to #RestoreNatureNow will be a celebration of nature but also an expression of our grief & anger - the lack of leadership is unforgivable theguardian.com/environment/ar…

The silence on nature & climate during this election campaign is deadly. We’re a nation of nature lovers, yet our political leaders are driving its destruction. It doesn’t have to be this way. Nature doesn’t have a voice - you do. Use it to vote to #RestoreNatureNow #VoteGreen

Agree - politicians - spend that public money on public transport (not just an HS2 line for London) - on regular buses, trains and existing infrastructure
