Like water vapor, SWOT rises. SWOT lifted off at 6:46am ET (11:46 UTC). It’s the first satellite mission that will observe nearly all water on Earth’s surface, #TrackingWorldWater to help us better understand this essential resource.

The Surface Water and Ocean Topography (SWOT) satellite has separated from its SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. SWOT begins #TrackingWorldWater now and will cover the Earth's surface worldwide at least twice every 21 days for at least three years.
