Even with all the damage and losing my pc, I realized how lucky I am. I ran through the water in a rush to get to the shutoff valve, but I should have turned off the circuit breaker first. There was a shorted out power bar in the water and that could have gone very badly.

They have had to completely gut the lower floor, including exterior walls. Work won't be complete till sometime in November. I cry. We have a gofundme to help replace all our (now banned) pipes to prevent this from happening again. (A cost of around 15k) gofund.me/a4314673b

Well... my work pc is officially dead, verdict confirmed at our local computer repair place. Time to build a new one and get myself set up in some corner of the house since my office won't be usable for a month.

My partner was going to Wendy's and I asked for onion rings... but they don't have those, so they also went to A&W to make me happy. I'm spoiled!

Dang it, one thing that got wet that I wasn't expecting was all the handdrawn animation from my college short film. This was a year of effort right here in these pages. I'm hoping I can save some of it.

How is it that any time I'm doing home reno and I just want no little bodies under my feet, my cat instantly starts appearing in any direction I need to go saying "a little body under your feet? Sir I have you covered! Step on me sir I'm so squishy and fragile!"

Oh myyyyy gaaawwwds it's finally almost time to start the long trek to Twitchcon. If anyone i know sees me there say hi.

Halfway to Twitchcon, operating on 3 hours of sleep over three days, getting a little loopy... blinking one eye at a time while staring at my partner.

4 hours of driving then 12 hours on planes, but we finally made it!

Phew, it's so nice to be home! I had a fun time making new friends and checking out Twitchcon, but damn did I miss my kids!
