Always best to wait until the legal texts are agreed but a dynamic alignment arrangement on SPS and linking of CBAM would be hugely significant for Northern Ireland.

Ursula making a point of saying what the UK and EU are negotiating around SPS rules will help Northern Ireland and reduce border checks Question is how quickly that can happen given there are still areas of the Windsor Framework to implement coming up

Ireland of course has an enormous impact on the FDI income balance (most of Apple's profit is there, a decent share of Microsoft's profit is there, lots of the pharma profit is there) and on US services exports ...

Brad Setser (@brad_setser) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Once the discussion broadens to services and income, Ireland looms even larger than it does on goods -- and the largest US bilateral goods deficit with a EU country is now with Ireland! (all pharma on US side/ pharma and organic chemics on the EU side)

For context, there are about 84,000 jobs in the entire steelmaking industry in the entire United States right now. So I sincerely doubt there will be 70,000 more steel manufacturing jobs just in Pennsylvania.
