An official report has called for RADICAL reforms that would revolutionise nuclear power in Britain. Government is rumoured to be wavering. We have 2 days before the Budget to PUSH them to act. Tell your MP: ACCEPT ALL the recommendations. 👇

My confidence that our government can get big things done has wavered of late but this looks genuinely exciting. I would be extremely encouraged to see them follow it up boldly

One warning about this (great) report Among investors I've spoken to in the past couple of years, the biggest UK worry is political paralysis halting reform (e.g. welfare cuts u-turn). I'd be concerned about already high gilt yields if the story becomes another failure to act!

A landmark contribution from Samuel Hughes on the Great Downzoning. It seems amazing that before this piece there has been almost no attempt to understand why this gigantically important thing happened round the world

Earlier this week, the Nuclear Regulatory Taskforce published a report that is been widely regarded as a work of genius, offering a sophisticated but radical plan to make British nuclear power affordable again. Today, the Government has said it 'accepts the principle of all the

This is a good idea. Looks after a historic church, frees up land to build, motivates good design, and roots a new development in the past

Just watched this discussion between Joshua R Farris and my masters supervisor Stephen Priest (Oxford) on existentialism, metaphysics, and theology. Probably the best intro to Priest's thought on YouTube. Open a bottle of vin rouge ordinaire and enjoy! youtube.com/watch?v=PtfihQ…

Huge from the PM. Starmer accepts the Fingleton Review *and* pledges to extend it to other infrastructure: data centres, railways, tramways, towns, labs, and more. Massive, and a big shift from the Treasury's equivocation. Implementation will be a big battle, but we can win.

It is cool that when Works in Progress wants an illustration of a Parisian boulevard for an article on the economics of roads, it dedicates an entire page to a Monet plate
