you think your mail not being delivered is problematic? tell that to the canada post employee who’s had no income for a month, just before the holidays

Gail is correct. Everyone up in her replies are not. If you read the Canada post website - it says UP TO. That is the max available for staff that have worked 28 years. They start with 3 weeks and increase to 4 weeks after 7 years of employment. Stop the misinformation.

if you're thinking about complaining about the canada post strike, please remember β€’ your tax dollars don't pay their wages β€’ canada post corporation tried to use christmas to force employees to accept a deal that fucked newer employees, and employees with seniority said NOPE

Reminder: Canada Post employees wanted to do a rotating strike, so the mail would still get through, just not everywhere all at once. The employer locked them out.

For those of you clutching your pearls at a 60 billion dollar deficit, you might be interested in knowing before you vote Conservative that during Harpers 8 yrs as PM, his deficit was 127B. Trudeau inherited a lot of it. AND, Harper was handed a surplus when he took office. Fact.

On a day when everyone is all about politics and positioning themselves for what happens next, it’s easy to forget that it’s also about human beings. Public service can be hard and I’m grateful for all who make the choice to serve, regardless of political stripe. Thank you to

Trump's mass spending freeze is an executive branch coup. And it's consistent with an authoritarian remaking of government. We should write about it as such.

every time I see an American try to explain how Canada "takes advantage of" the USA, I am viscerally reminded why that entire country collectively cannot be trusted with Kinder Surprise Eggs for their own safety

Everyone is talking about wanting to expand trade and build economic resilience. And that’s great. You know what we need for that? Ports, rail, roads, power grids, etc. Government is going to be spending on that and we should want it to.
