I always say I know enough about health policy to get myself into trouble and not enough to get myself out of trouble. This week gave me great opportunities to learn… now to remember how to keep a neutral face when I’m being televised.

Predatory payday lending practices trap Michiganders into never-ending cycles of debt. It’s time we capped rates on these short-term loans, allowing families to pay for unexpected expenses without hurting their ability to pay for basic needs.

In 2023, I felt like I ran a marathon at a sprint pace! Can’t wait to chat about everything we did in 2023 (and what we didn’t get done) and maybe take a view at what we’re hoping for in 2024!

Please stop making us beg for our lives, health and mental health. As a mother of a very loved, very wanted child whose pregnancy nearly killed me, I’m thankful to live in a state that trusts us to make healthcare decisions based on conversations with our doctors.
