Check out my very first, first author paper! ~1/3 of us have Staph living harmlessly in our nose but if it goes deeper into our body, it can cause some nasty infections. In this study I look at how the small temp diff between the nose and body might be the reason staph changes!

Very excited to share some of my thesis research for the #OUVirtualExpo! I study the bacteria S. aureus in the Carroll lab at Ohio University. We aim to understand how S. aureus is able to cause such a wide variety of infections in humans BobcatsDiscover

I study the bacteria Staphylococcus aureus, specifically focusing on the small RNA Teg41. We have found that Teg41 is a regulator required for the bacteria to cause infection and survive environmental stressors! #OUVirtualExpo BobcatsDiscover OU Biological Sciences Carroll Lab πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦

Our work on how small variations in temperature influence S. aureus EV composition was published in mSphere today. Huge congratulations to Paul Briaud for getting this done throughout 18 crazy months of COVID. Thanks to all our collaborators and co-authors.
