These officials make decisions that impact your family’s daily lives, often even more acutely than those made at the state or federal levels. smilepolitely.com/opinion/please…

We focus a lot on people who will have their coverage terminated because of "administrative churn"—meaning they're still eligible for the program—and we should. But I also worry *a lot* about people losing Medicaid coverage and not successfully enrolling in marketplace plans.

Today the Biden administration released new FAQs to help explain the Braidwood decision striking down ACA preventive care. They only magnify how much nationwide confusion & uncertainty a single Texas judge has created. dol.gov/agencies/ebsa/…

Reading the text of Speaker McCarthys just released debt ceiling bill and my initial reaction about the proposed Medicaid work requirement is that state governments are sure going to have to know a LOT about you and your life if this was enacted.

Interesting new study finds that when states expand the availability of short-term plans, they end up increasing premiums for ACA marketplace plans while not reducing their uninsured rate.

With enrollment in the ACA marketplaces at a record high and expected to grow further, many states are experimenting with ways to make shopping for the right health care coverage easier and more efficient for consumers. buff.ly/3N6CKPc

My health insurance nerd origin story: Spring 2007. Preparing to graduate college and realize I'm getting kicked off my parents insurance in June. I have (my second) hip surgery scheduled in October. Uh oh.

For these families especially, the ACA's coverage reforms have been critical to making health insurance coverage available. More here on that from me, Jalisa Clark, Rachel Swindle, and Justin Giovannelli. Threats to repeal the ACA threaten their coverage. chirblog.org/substantial-ma…
