Anaxagoras (c. 500–428 BCE) was one of the first to suggest that the Sun was a massive fiery rock, not a god, and that the Moon reflected its light.

The image shows an 18th-century view of Sackville Street (now O'Connell Street) in Dublin, Ireland, likely from around 1750. The street was originally laid out as a residential square called Sackville Mall by developer Luke Gardiner around 1748.

A great release from last year that a lot of you missed is Bob Randall's THE CALLING, a devilishly fun '80s horror novel in which an ordinary woman's life is turned upside down when she starts receiving freaky phone calls coming straight from Hell! valancourtbooks.com/the-calling-19…

There’s a distance from a black hole where light can orbit one, two, or more times before escaping. We would see this as a thin ring of light around the black hole. #MondayMotivation

Part of one of Dublin’s most prominent 18th-century buildings still survives out of sight near to its original position. The La Touche bank and mansion on Castle Street, once nestled against the walls of Dublin Castle, was built in the 1750s and survived into the 20th century 🧵
