Congratulations to the @swqroc Mayors who leveraged strong existing partnerships to accelerate #QWRAP collaboration, agreeing to form a Water and Sewerage Alliance during their meeting at Charleville last week.

Thanks to Goondiwindi Regional Council for hosting the QWRAP Technical Group yesterday. Lots of changes happening in this water-challenged region but the councils are working together on optimal responses.

Congratulations to the QWRAP Wide Bay Burnett Urban Water Alliance for being a finalist for the AWA Infrastructure Project Innovation Award (Regional) 2021. This long-running project a tribute to all staff involved and the program managers at Fraser Coast Council.

COVID combined with a shortage of water and.sewerage operators is a real risk for regional communities. #collaboration can help, but operators need to be classed as critically essential workers.

Great news! The Central Qld Regional Organisation of Councils agreed at their recent meeting to become a QWRAP pilot region. Joint projects and a review of regional water and sewerage services will commence in the new year.
