When one of my friend finds a paper i put on arXiV some time ago just after it got accepted and never talked about it... and asks if he can get the actual citation, and if that is the camera ready... how did you know it was accepted?? 🩷🩷

Read my latest publication where I talk about what is a social media bot! Bonus: this cute drawing that I did of my bots 😀

How do false info spread? Cuz people don’t evaluate what they see on social media. I went for another heart surgery ytd & posted a pic of my heart. Everyone, incl doctors, assumed I am pregnant. We need to teach ppl to slow down and look, not build more algos

📊I've started posting stat lab tutorials (with R) for beginners (myself) on my webpage. The first topic is "What are fixed, between, and random effects in panel analysis?" Click here: idlhy0218.github.io/page%20buildin… #rstat #econtwitter #soctwitter #statistics

What happens when a large-language-model news engine goes head-to-head with Google News in 11 election countries? We ran a 592 k-article audit plus a controlled survey (N = 921) to measure relevance, credibility, and user cognition. Findings below 🧵⬇️

We've added o4-mini, o3, Claude-4-Sonnet, Gemini-2.5-Flash to our VisualPuzzles leaderboard! 📊 Despite recent advances, even the strongest models still fall short of the lower 5th percentile human reasoning performance (57.5% accuracy). Still a long way to go on multimodal

Curiosity doesn’t expand the tools you have. It expands your understanding of the problem space. Hank Green is such a great commencement speaker!

Our first Nature Human Behaviour article! It took 8 months for the acceptance (Submitted: August 2024 / Accepted: April 2025), and the responses to reviewers was book-thick text. :) But finally it's out and we are so happy! 🥂 Read it here: rdcu.be/epoQJ

You get good because you fail so many times and you get up and try again even more times. I miss the days pre transplant where my body doesn’t process emotions well (eg I didn’t produce tears to cry) so getting up was easier

99% of doctors don’t measure this but 99% of the patients notice the variance. I whined for years as a child that the ECG looks different but I was dismissed… until my heart stopped completely 😭

Will #AI rigidly hold the moral values of its original decision or adapt as #ethics dilemmas become more complex? Across 3,302 five-step #moralDilemmas, 9 #LLMs often shifted priorities as stakes rose (e.g., care → fairness). Some violated transitivity. doi.org/10.48550/arXiv…

Hey #AcademicTwitter : can anyone recommend a tool if I want to search for all papers on a topic between timings and download their citations? For a meta analysis review. Thanks!!

One of my datasets is adapted into a data challenge by MORS! It is for stance detection towards a video & an entity in the vid. Check out the challenge & pls complete all the "future work" I didn't know how to solve: bit.ly/3FUdP11 Original paper: bit.ly/3HyY3Jw

New paper: "Large Language Models & Emergence: A Complex Systems Perspective" (D. Krakauer, J. Krakauer, M. Mitchell). We look at claims of "emergent capabilities" & "emergent intelligence" in LLMs from perspective of what emergence means in complexity science. ⬇️
