Students from the Perimeter Institute's PSI Start program visited the Quantum-Nano Centre this week to see the labs where #quantum ideas become reality. They saw how entangled photons are made, how individual atoms are trapped, and how to cool quantum chips to the milliKelvin scale.
We had a great time with Xanadu's Daniel F. Nino this morning as part of our Undergraduate School on Quantum Information Processing (USEQIP) programming. Thanks for joining us!
🎓 Join us to honor Prof. John John Preskill at the 2024 Bell Prize Ceremony. With intros by Paul Brumer & Hoi-Kwong Lo and lectures by Nicole Yunger Halpern NicoleYunger Halpern & Daniel Gottesman, it's a must-attend event. Register by Aug 12 🔗 lnkd.in/gEa3Zwup
As part of IQC's Undergraduate School on Experimental Quantum Information Processing (USEQIP), Professor Christine Muschik presented a fantastic introduction to quantum error correction (QEC). #QEC is what could allow #quantum computers to overcome noise by using many noisy qubits to
Day 2 of the #QEd workshop was packed with sessions on wave-particle duality, computing with interferometers, and #quantum paradoxes. A highlight was the tour at Perimeter Institute. Big thanks to speakers James D. D. Martin, Lalitasri Urja Nandivada, Damian Pope and physicswithmcp!
We wrapped up the Quantum for Educators (#QEd) workshop with an inspiring final day! Participants learned about quantum coding, unravelled quantum enigmas, and discussed quantum entanglement. Special thanks to Tania Belabbas from Institut quantique for her engaging session!
At Institute for Quantum Computing (IQC), Dr. Jamal Busnaina and Dr. Christopher Wilson are using superconducting circuits to unlock the potential of analog quantum simulation. Their recent breakthrough? Simulating the bosonic Kitaev model—unlocking complex #quantum behaviors that traditional computers
We’re thrilled to welcome Luke Schaeffer as an Assistant Professor at IQC, with Waterloo's Cheriton School of Computer Science as his home department. Welcome, Luke!
