My children are making play money. It’s all dollars. I’m feeling rather disappointed.

This morning I went to the London Toy Fair. There is a LOT of money in the toy industry. The difference between the Toy Fair and Expo is the difference between the Tory conference and the Lib Debs (pre 2010). (AireCon is like the Greens, but with fewer photocopied leaflets.)

I like the idea. However, the weekends burn me out more than the working day. I find childcare far harder than creating boardgames or freelance political research. I want to work fewer but longer days, but the kids need picking up and taking to swimming etc.

I’m now out of the police station. Still waiting for my colleagues. Make no mistake. There is no longer a right to peaceful protest in the UK. I have been told many times the monarch is there to defend our freedoms. Now our freedoms are under attack in his name.

How can anyone look at the arrests yesterday and believe that the UK still has a right to peaceful protest?
