Growing up in the 90s & early 2000s they wanted us to read, drink milk, play outside, just say no to drugs, reduce, reuse, recycle. Ms. Frizzle was our secondary teacher and Captain Planet was considered a hero. That’s the world I grew up in, so seeing where we are now is wild.

Our ancestors were beaten, raped, and lynched to fight for what little political representation we have. The Voting Rights Act was Black people fighting for the rights of EVERYONE. It was ensuring the disabled are able to vote. The poor and disenfranchised. All gone.

it’s actually insane the fact that so many ppl are against everyone having access to basic human needs. why are you against kids having free meals at school? why are you against elders on little to no income getting medication for reasonable prices? wtf is wrong with you ppl

I think about her a lot. She was destitute and forgotten at the time she died. I doubt she could have conceived that her people would still be talking about her artistry and intellect almost 65 year after her death but here we are. PBS did a great job with her documentary.
