Clumsy, heavy-handed fare enforcement isn't a mistake, it's the point. Inconveniencing all riders to nab fare beaters reinforces the falsehood that other riders—and not our elected leaders—are to blame for poor, underfunded bus service.

City employees who block sidewalks, bus lanes, or bike lanes with their personal vehicles should be ticketed—no excuses, no exceptions.

There is an entire account, placard corruption dedicated to documenting all the ways the NYPD uses NYC streets as their personal parking lot/money maker. It’s never, ever about making transit better with them.

Do *not* call it a "bicycle accident". Do not call it a "bike crash". Johnny Gaudreau and his brother were struck and killed by the *driver* of an SUV. Words matter.

The media apparently struggles to understand the practical and moral distinction between killing someone and being killed. This was vehicular murder by a drunk driver. The men he killed happened to be on bikes. There was nothing accidental about it.

The death of Gaudreau and his brother is tragic. And people are rightly placing blame on the drunk driver who hit them. HOWEVER: … the fault isn’t just with the drunk driver… 🧵

The video of this crash is awful. It’s as though a missile were shot down the street: really, what’s the difference? Two tons of flying metal wrecking everything in its path. Hope the little girl and her mom recover. Driver was drunk, I guess?

Yet another SUV driver killed a person in Brooklyn this weekend. This SUV driver killed a man standing there today, while yesterday, an SUV driver killed a man riding a bike. Also, two days ago, an SUV driver struck a woman and toddler. Vision Zero is a total utter failure.

Vice President Harris: It is outrageous that every day in our country, parents have to send their children to school worried about whether or not their child will come home alive. It's senseless. We have to end this epidemic of gun violence in our country once and for all. It

It’s always the same weapon used in mass shootings, and yet we’re supposed to swallow the idea that it’s politically impossible to ban these because Americans need them to… form a militia? This is insane

This was not like the Parkland shooting. The FBI did follow up. The shooter and father were interviewed and investigated. The father did acknowledge having guns for "hunting." What do you do when the local but tragically inadequate local laws were followed and Dads AR 15 was

The largest contributor to New York’s GHG emissions—by far—is transportation. Hochul unilaterally scuttled congestion pricing, the most important climate and transportation bill in NY, gutting the MTA budget ($16.5Bn). Within days, NY auto dealers threw her a $10K/plate dinner.
