Started learning Cavalry this week. I had resisted learning it until I saw the beautiful & playful renders by Philip von Borries. It can solve a lot of problems I had in AE. If I don’t need to worry about any transitions, I’ll def jump into Cavalry.

𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐜 is a powerful effect in AE. It can merge multiple layers into one single layer. Say I want to apply a gradient to the lower body. It consists of 3 layers, hip + left leg + right leg. I want to use it as a matte, but I can’t precomp them.
