Work from Monica Olvera de la Cruz led by Nick Pogharian and with Petia Vlahovska explores the effects of normal and lateral fields on membrane mechanical properties. Membrane tension and bending rigidity decrease under normal fields and increase under lateral fields. go.acs.org/aYz

Symposium celebrating Dennis Discher's 60th is on today. His continuing legacy is one of high impact interdisciplinary science and great mentorship. It's a privilege to have such colleagues. Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Penn Penn Engineering Penn Bioengineering

Honored to receive this recognition and looking forward to contributing more to Physical Review Fluids APS Division of Fluid Dynamics and the fluid mechanics community in general

Huge congrats to Michael Graham for his Bingham Medal lecture from the Society of Rheology. #SoR2024 His talk highlighted the vast impact he has had on fluid mechanics, rheology, and computational methods development. The Society of Rheology

Check out new work by Jordan in collaboration with Aaron Dinner and Petia Vlahovska ! arxiv.org/abs/2503.24120 We consider minimal protocels under non-equilibrium growth conditions and extract low (2) dimensional rules to describe their shapes.
