Education is so focused on helping people understand what other people already know. Not to disrespect such knowledge, but it's also important to develop the skills for exploring and discovering the unknown and navigating ambiguous situations where there is no known solution.

Recognizing how many valuable skills (e.g. critical thinking, hypothesizing, seeking and incorporating feedback, communication, etc) can be used toward almost any goal. This allows students to engage in diverse work that is still unified around these skills.
