Ok ok ok. I am impressed. I am more than impressed. @[email protected] has Blender 🔶 running on Mobile NixOS on this OnePlus phone. I am literally seeing a new evolution of mobile devices in front of me. #weeknotes

There's this trend where people say "There's no scientific evidence pure fp and static typing produces better results", despite it being true and there being a lot of evidence.

Is there a software design book focusing on things like types, tests, laws, and polymorphism? Most seem to have chapters on naming and commenting, boring!!

Some languages have 1 engineer. Others have 30. Who pays these salaries? Why? Does this put any boundaries on language design or development practices? The talk I needed to hear 10 years ago when I was just starting on Elm youtu.be/XZ3w_jec1v8

People keep telling me Haskell tooling sucks. But then I use some other language's tooling. I agree that Haskell tooling could be improved, but my god, the rest of you live in a tooling hellscape.

It's kind of fun to see reinventing and re-descovery, examples: - new language: types are useless. 10y later... We are implementing types! - new language: let's implement async/await. 10y later, function coloring sucks.

gonna be hilarious when live coding goes pop and people be writing Long X Posts about debugging Haskell syntax onstage or why browser caching caused the wrong samples to load or why SuperCollider ran out of audio nodes or why the neural audio model got stuck in a local minima

As a graduate, the very first time I wrote Java professionally, I used this method. My manager did code review and pointed out that it did a DNS lookup. My first thought "omg do people seriously use Java, or is this a joke somehow?"
