Prayers going out to all the students & school staff who will be at school today and in the following weeks. Also to nurses, doctors, all healthcare workers who don’t get to just not go to work in order to stay safe. Thinking of those who are affected by this but have no choice

Y’all, we know school isn’t cancelled, the learning will continue. But the daily interactions that make us laugh, smile, those small moments we carry with us for a long time, those are. So let us be sad and angry!!! 💔 let us process this & express our emotions without judgment.

Schools are closed. Education will continue in some manner going forward. You know who I'm worried about? The kids who don't have wifi, the kids in abusive homes, the homeless kids, the kids who only can eat at school, the kids with IEPs who need the hands-on help of teachers.

Yesterday I was heartbroken, but today I woke up motivated and excited about the possibilities. In the last few days I’ve seen some AMAZING educators come together in ways I’ve never seen before. It has been inspiring! Proud to be a KS teacher. ❤️ We got this!!

Good Thing: I’ve been blown away by the messages from our kids parents about how much we have meant to their kids. A lot of times we hope to have a positive impact on them, but actually hearing about it from them has been powerful, it makes me want to find ways to keep this going

I've gotten messages from a lot of students saying goodbye and thanking me for teaching them and caring about them. They are very sweet and their messages remind me that I do something meaningful for a living.
