Just another look into what happens in our Milwaukee Innovation Lab. Today we're sorting our malt to determine the plumpness for our Certificate of Analysis!

A couple weeks ago our East Region Sales Director, Eric Keller, stopped in at @eventidebrewing in Atlanta. The beer pictured is a 100% PXM Pilsner. Perfect color and coming in at 5.5% ABV!

Something a little different... but a good kind of different. 😍 This Junction City Whiskey from @3riversbrewery features our Pale Ale Malt and we are dying to get a sip. 🥃

We use all sorts of equipment at our in-house laboratory but there are a few we absolutely couldn't live without. Bobbie Jo is here to tell you all about those and why they are so critical to us as a malt company!

Pilsen Malt – versatile and all around delicious. As a base malt, it really does work in everything, especially where you want a clean, malty flavor to shine through.

Ever wonder how Winter Barley made its way to the Mid-Atlantic region? Zach Gaines, our Director of Raw Materials and Logistics, has got the answer for you!

Wheat Malt can be used in a variety of styles including Hefeweizens (more to follow), Witbiers and if you just want a little bit of foam retention. This malt has flour or dough-like characteristics and is creamy is well. It provides good foam & head retention when used.

Our US Warehouses will be closed tomorrow, April 14th for Good Friday and re-opening on Monday, April 18th. Any orders that are placed after 11:00am today, Thursday, will not be shipped until Monday the 18th. Please plan accordingly and have a safe and fantastic Easter Weekend!

Another test that we run at the plant is for proteins and moisture, which we use the Foss for!

Each of our two malthouses operates a continuous coil roaster, allowing us to produce a full range of colors and flavors using barley, wheat and rye.

On samples that we retain, we put them through the "splitter" which splits them into two representative samples, one which we use for testing, the other we retain in case there are any quality questions down the line.
