I received a rude email regarding my paper on hybridization because the emailer claimed hybridization doesn’t exist and I should have cited his work stating so. He believes in only teaching MO theory. Unfortunately education research is clouded with opinions that hinder progress.

Such a great visit to Ohio state university. Truly a pleasure to visit such excellent chem ed colleagues and share my initial attempts at defining creativity in organic chemistry.

2024 has been productive. 11 papers submitted and 5 published with others pending. I gave four seminars and one invited talk for ACS. My book has been updated. I taught 2 new courses to put my total courses to 8 in four years. My course evaluations for the fall were 4.6/5.

Paper submitted. I have two papers to finish and that will complete my contribution to organic chemistry education. I am shifting to a new research area for my scholarship in August-closing the door at least in part on chemical education research not teaching

I would like to publish a preliminary study in which we probed creativity in organic chemistry. Any suggestions? The findings provide insights into things to consider. A psych journal felt it was too much science but liked it. I have >100 dats points.
