Every LinkNYC machine I've seen since last week is saying that it's 123º in New York. True or not, REAL FEEL® today was about 80º.

In Rosedale today, right across the street from a Link5G monster, I spotted this old NYNEX payphone sign stuffed upside down into a telephone pole.

Echoes of a Payphone/TTY and a whole bunch of other shit circling around its memory. Queens Plaza today.

With its prickly keyboard you could make calls & send text/sms messages from this Bell-branded payphone, now owned by WiMacTel. The only USA payphone to allow text/sms (afaik) was Dennis Novick's TCC Teleplex Internet streetphone. Smart City LinkNYC/PHL/NWK isn't smart like that.

Discovered at Sunset Cove Park on Broad Channel, Queens, yesterday. A decrepit NYNEX payphone carcass rig off of which someone tried and failed to pry the coin box cover. #offofwhich #ilovequeensnyc #upwithwhichiwillnotput #payphone

Spotted a couple of dead payphone TTYs at the Yankee Stadium B/D/4 subway station yesterday. (718) 590-4160 and (718) 590-9315.

Over a year since they got rid of the payphones, the Staten Island Ferry Whitehall Terminal still has the old gigantic TELEPHONES sign.
