Beekeeping provides an option for livelihood diversification in pastoral and agropastoral areas #ESSA

Ms. Rose Njambi (University of Nairobi) and Mr. Mulualem Kere (Addis Ababa University) presented their MSc research results in the 1st ESSA Bi-weekly Science Session today.

In the 2nd Bi-weekly Science Session, presentations were given by Ms. Pauline Ogola (RCMRD) on "Remote Sensing of Water Pans Hydrodynamics and Land Degradation in the Agropastoral Environment", and Dr. Vincent Odongo (ILRI) on "Carbon balance of Kapiti rangelands, Kenya".

The 3rd ESSA science session focused on water pans: Collins Muhadia (IHE Delft) on "Water pans as multifunctional components of climate-smart landscapes in semi-arid regions", and Victor Odipo (IHE Delft/ILRI) on "Status of drone mapping of water pans in Taita and Kapiti".

An interactive ESSA seminar was organized for stakeholders and beneficiaries at LUMO Community Wildlife Conservancy in Taita Taveta, Kenya.
